What this independent retirement calculator estimates

This page is an independent retirement-savings estimator for people comparing calculator options. It is not provided by, affiliated with, or endorsed by Ramsey Solutions. For Ramsey’s own calculator and retirement resources, visit Ramsey Solutions’ retirement calculator.

Enter current savings, a monthly contribution, time horizon, an assumed annual return and an assumed inflation rate. The estimate shows a possible future account value and an inflation-adjusted value in today’s dollars. Changing the assumptions changes the result; no result predicts or guarantees investment performance.

How the estimate is calculated

The model converts the annual return assumption to a monthly rate by dividing it by 12, then assumes that rate stays constant. Monthly contributions are added at the end of each month.

Future value = current savings × (1 + monthly rate)months + monthly contribution × (((1 + monthly rate)months − 1) / monthly rate)

When the monthly rate is zero, the model adds current savings and all planned contributions without growth. The inflation-adjusted estimate divides future value by (1 + annual inflation)years. Contributions are not increased for inflation.

Use care with retirement projections

This general-purpose calculator is educational and does not recommend an account, asset allocation, savings rate or retirement date. It does not model market volatility, sequence-of-returns risk, Social Security, pensions, withdrawals, taxes, fees, contribution limits or individual circumstances. A smooth projection can look more certain than real investing is.

For decisions about your retirement plan, verify assumptions with primary sources and consider speaking with a qualified financial professional who understands your circumstances. This page is not a substitute for professional advice.

Frequently asked questions

Is this Ramsey’s retirement calculator?

No. This is an independent estimator published by PourMargin. Ramsey Solutions provides its own calculator on its website; this page does not reproduce or speak for that service.

Does a higher CPC mean this page will rank?

No. Advertising cost-per-click is an ads-market metric. It does not promise organic rankings, traffic or revenue. Search results and competition can change, and a branded query may favor the brand’s own resources.

Why is my result different from another calculator?

Calculators may use different return conventions, contribution timing, fees, tax assumptions, inflation treatment and compounding. Compare assumptions before comparing outputs.
